MIT-002 Moving Beyond Traditional Hazard Risk Analysis
This course builds on the Using Geospatial Technologies to Describe and Measure Risks and Vulnerabilities from Florida Hurricanes course to explore opportunities for addressing elements of risk that are not commonly addressed in mitigation planning. It also offers insights on how GIS specifically can be used to characterize, respond to and mitigate the risks posed by Florida hurricanes by expanding on your understanding of socioeconomic risks, visualizing risk and incentivizing action, and using the power of statistics to identify patterns and relationships in your data.
