Name AWR-379 Coastal Hazard Awareness : ( AWR-379)
Description This one-day awareness-level training course aims to increase the awareness of the hazards facing coastal communities and basic strategies to reduce the risk to those hazards. This course provides training on the basic science of, assessment of, and preparedness for natural hazards and risks that uniquely affect coastal communities. Examples of these hazards are short term events such as high surf, storm surge, and tsunami inundation, or long term threats from sea level rise and coastal erosion

Target Audience Government Administrative; Government Officials; Planners and Developers; Coastal Zone Managers; Emergency Management; Emergency Medical Services; Fire Service; Law Enforcement; Private Sector/Corporate Security and Safety; Security and Safety; Public Works; Education; Citizens/Community Volunteer; and General Public
Additional Information ***BESIDES REGISTERING ON SERT TRAC 2.0, YOU NEED TO REGISTER WITH NDPTC AS WELL. VISIT https://ndptc.hawaii.edu/training/delivery/4032/ TO REGISTER*** Class runs from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Course materials will not be provided. Accordingly, please bring a laptop, tablet, or pre-print your own student materials. The EOC is cool, so please bring a sweater or fleece jacket to stay warm.
