Name MGT404 Sports and Special Events Incident Management Course : ( MGT404 )
Description This course develops athletic department staffs, facility management personnel, campus public safety personnel, emergency response supervisors, and others involved in sports/special event management to better manage incidents that could occur during an event.
PreRequisite any ICS-200 course AWR 167 Sports Event Risk Management
Target Audience athletic departments, operators of large arenas/venues, campus public safety, campus emergency management, campus administration, campus environmental health and safety, campus physical plant / public works, student life/affairs, public affairs, and sports information local, state, and federal agency representatives that would be involved in the planning and managing sports/special events are encouraged to come and attend the course
Additional Information **MUST register with TEEX at https://my.teex.org/TeexPortal/Default.aspx?MO=mCourseCatalog&D=FP&C=MGT404&S=336 This course emphasizes the unique aspects of response to an incident occurring during a sports/special event, including considerations for business continuity and after-action activities. You will learn the skills necessary to effectively manage an incident by applying and implementing a multi-disciplinary management team approach as described in the National Incident Management System (NIMS). The course is designed to help develop athletic department staff, facility management personnel, campus public safety personnel, emergency response supervisors, and others involved in sports/special event management to better manage incidents that could occur during an event. 8am - 5pm in the EOC -- park in any unmarked spot in the rear of Headquarters
