Name MGT-304 Sport and Special Event Staff Training and Development : ( MGT-304)
Description This course is designed to provide participants with tools and methodologies for training and developing stakeholders assigned to and responsible for public safety at sporting and special events through comprehensively reviewing safety and security staffing challenges, whole community training requirements, and the management and continuous improvement of sport and special event training programs. The training is applicable across the United States regardless of the venue size, capacity, or type of event. This course was developed in a partnership effort between the University of Southern Mississippi’s National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (USM/NCS4) and the TEEX National Emergency Response and Recovery Training
PreRequisite There are none for this course
Target Audience Class attendance is an essential part of the education process, and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises
The course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion
During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirement, for example, a field exercise that cannot be missed
Participants in a TCOLE credit course must complete the class in its entirety to receive TCOLE credit
Additional Information Sport and special event staff members are essential for the overall success of the event through enforcement of safety regulations, crowd management and control, emergency response, and security measure implementation. Their presence and vigilance help prevent incidents and ensure the well-being of all involved. This course brings together first responders, government, and commercial facilities personnel to improve safety and security training and development programs for stakeholders assigned to and responsible for public safety at sporting and special events. Class will be held daily from 0800 - 1700. To access the parking, please proceed to the gate to the east of the front of the building. Call the phone number posted, the Guard will open the gate, proceed to the rear parking lot and park in any UNMARKED space. Thank you
