Additional Information Sports and special events often operate through a principle of open public access or providing fan-friendly environments for high-population densities, which can increase the vulnerability to intentional attacks. In addition, venues and events are recognizable, increasing the potential attractiveness to an adversary. No communities are immune to the natural, technological, or human-caused threats facing their sports and special events. Any disruption to these facilities or events could have major short and long-term impacts on the sponsoring organization as well as the hosting community; resulting in significant economical and reputation damage. The proposed course goal is to bring together first responders, government, and commercial facilities personnel in an effort to protect these critical pieces of community infrastructure. Class will run daily from 0800- 1700.
