*PLEASE REGISTER THROUGH URL LISTED ABOVE* Join the Walton County Emergency Management team for our offering of G-402 - Senior/Elected Officials Emergency Management Briefing on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the Walton County Emergency Operations Center (75 South Davis Lane, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435) from 8:30-10:30AM
If interested, please complete the registration below! The purpose of this briefing is to familiarize county and municipal senior officials (county administrators, city managers, etc
) as well as elected officials (county commissioners, city council representatives, constitutional officers, etc
) with their roles and responsibilities during disasters, the FEMA disaster declaration and reimbursement process, and the Florida Statute that guides emergency management to include some recent changes
Briefing Objectives: - Explain the National Incident Management System, the organizational structure of the Incident Command System, and the role of the Command and General Staff
- Explain the attributes and purpose of Emergency Operations Centers and the interconnectivity between the EPG, EOCs, the Joint Information System and Incident Command
- Explain the Senior Official's role in preparedness
