Name MGT-315 Critical Asset Risk Management (CARM) : ( MGT-315)
Description The Critical Asset Risk Management (CARM) course compliments the Jurisdictional Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment course (MGT-310) by teaching participants to conduct thorough site-specific critical infrastructure risk and vulnerability assessments to enhance development of their jurisdictional Threat Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA). Through a combination of classroom presentations, group discussions, and practical field application, participants learn methods to identify and prioritize risks, assess vulnerabilities, estimate consequences, and use the National Preparedness Cycle to mitigate risk. Multidisciplinary participant teams visit and assess critical infrastructure facilities selected by the host jurisdiction, identifying risks, vulnerabilities, consequences, and mitigation options specific to their assigned site. Teams then document their findings, develop an action plan, and present their results to the class.

Are you prepared to mitigate those risks? The Conducting Risk Assessments to Critical Community Assets course teaches the critical components of risk management and provides participants the basic fundamentals of determining and mitigating risks associated with their critical infrastructure. Through a combination of lecture, facilitated discussion, and group activities, participants will learn how threats, vulnerabilities, and consequences determine risk and are given an opportunity to practice the fundamentals of conducting vulnerability assessments by conducting an on-site site-specific risk assessment of select local facilities. Additionally, they will identify potential mitigation measures associated with their findings and work together to develop and present a risk assessment report. Individuals completing this course in combination with AWR213, MGT310, MGT414, and MGT452 are awarded the TEEX Infrastructure Protection Certificate opens in a new tab. This is an in-person, classroom-based course delivery. You will need access to a laptop or mobile device/tablet during the class to complete electronic, web-based course work/exam
