Name MGT-323 Instructor Development Workshop : ( MGT-323)
Description This course primarily serves to give instructors, most of whom already have years of instructional experience within their own organizations, insight into adult education principles as well as the opportunity to comment on and improve their instructional style. The course focuses on enhancing instructional skills that may be applied within DHS-certified courses, but it also discusses organizationspecific policies, procedures and practices. The goal of this course is to ensure instructional excellence by providing a forum for experienced instructors to share their experiences with participants and learn together, both during discussions of instructional techniques and in commenting on each other’s presentation skills during prepared teachbacks.

Target Audience Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Management Agency, Fire Service, Governmental Administrative, Hazardous Materials Personnel, Law Enforcement, Public Health The target audience for the Direct Delivery version of this course is experienced emergency response professionals including: • Law enforcement • Fire • Hazardous materials personnel • Personnel in the agricultural industry • Emergency medical service personnel • Emergency planners • Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) involved in the planning, preparation, response or recovery phases of disaster or emergency response • Healthcare professionals • Former military personnel
Additional Information There are additional steps that will be emailed to you after registration on SERT TRAC. These will be required to participate in the course. This includes registering on the NCBERT.LSU site as well as taking a pre-test and registering for a FEMA ID. The class will begin promptly at 0800 and run till 1700 daily. Student manual and additional information will be emailed closer to the start date. Please bring laptops or electronic device to review student manual. The classroom is known to be cold, we recommend wearing outerwear.
