Name G-271 Hazardous Weather and Flood Preparation : ( G-271)
Description This course provides training for local and state emergency managers who respond to hazardous weather events, while promoting partnership and coordination between the National Weather Service (NWS) and emergency managers. The goal of this course is to enhance emergency managers’ ability to recognize potentially hazardous weather and flooding situations so they are equipped to plan appropriately and to coordinate effective responses.
PreRequisite There are no pre-requisites for this course.

Additional Information *ADA ACCOMMODATIONS- Please email eoctraining@broward.org with any ADA accommodation requests at least 48 hours prior to class start time*• The Broward EOC will open at 8:15 AN and class will start promptly at 8:30AM and end approximately at 5:00PM each day at the discretion of the Instructors. •Please arrive early to go through security, •Bring your FEMA Student Identification Number (SID# If you can’t find it, don’t remember it, or need to create one, please go to: https://cdp.dhs.gov/FEMASID/ •Course materials will be sent electronically for you to upload onto your laptop or convert into a hardcopy document. •Bring a coat or jacket since the room may turn cold at times. •Bring a laptop or something to take notes with. •The facility does have a Community Room with vending machines on site. You may bring food/beverages with you. There are also a variety of restaurants nearby.
