Description
This course builds on principles taught in AWR-414-V, Creating Economic Resilience: A Whole Community Approach, by equipping participants with tools, resources, and references to create economic resilience at the micro- and macroeconomic levels. The course provides economic development and community resilience stakeholders with a disaster risk reduction tool that is applied to case studies and local businesses. Each lesson provides an opportunity for application of the risk assessment, business/industry impact analysis, and mitigation measures modules to develop strategies for risk reduction and resilience. Participants will learn how to assess disaster risk for their local area and internationally to assess impact from throughout the supply chain and among the customer base. Finally, participants will learn how to apply this risk reduction method at the community level to enhance economic resilience.
