Name	MGT 335 Event Security Planning for Public Safety Professionals : ( MGT 335)
Description	This course teaches community leaders and public safety professionals how to plan for event security, a critical part of successful event planning. This is a planning- and management-level course designed to introduce basic principles and skills associated with planning security for a variety of events that range from small events to large-scale, regional events involving personnel from multiple agencies and jurisdictions. This course enables participants to recognize and plan adequate strategies and security measures to prevent or mitigate incidents. Further, this course uses the all-hazards Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA) approach to: 1) identify threats and hazards; 2) assess risks; and 3)establish planning measures to prevent, protect against,mitigate, respond to, and recover from threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk.
PreRequisite
Target Audience	This course is designed to foster a Whole Community approach to event security planning and encourages participation among law enforcement, emergency management, EMS, fire service, and public health personnel, as well as other stakeholders who have a responsibility for security during planned event (e g , event organizers)
