Name AWR-343 Hurricane Awareness : ( AWR-343)
Description This four-hour awareness-level course provides emergency managers, first responders, and community members from all sectors with a basic understanding of the latest knowledge in hurricane science, forecasting, warning, and preparedness. This course enhances the ability of state/ local decision-makers to identify and describe the hazards associated with hurricanes and to better prepare for and mitigate the impacts of high winds, heavy rain, and storm surge.This course is presented as an awareness-level course; a successful participant shall be able to identify and recognize the hazards associated with hurricanes and take any necessary steps to prepare.
PreRequisite Students will need to register through the NDPTC student portal. You are not registered until you click on the link (more info URL) to complete the final registration process.
Target Audience Emergency Managment First Responders Government Administrative Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Fire Services (FS) Emergnecy Medical Services Private Sector/Corporate Security and Safety Public Works Public Health Citizen/Community Volunteer Law Enforcement
Additional Information Class will be from 1:00-5:00 PM. The EOC can get cold, please bring a jacket.
