Description
This course is designed to provide the participant with an understanding of the proper use of air monitoring equipment during hazardous materials emergency response. The course guides students through the hazard assessment and verification process necessary for effective air monitoring operations. Students will be provided with the working knowledge of monitoring equipment in their jurisdiction and will be provided with hands-on application training

Target Audience
State of FL first responders: Air Monitoring Strategies and Tactics class This course reviews the fundamentals of air monitoring strategies and tactics and follows through the latest technology These strategies are then worked through in scenario-based breakouts for over the road haulers, rail, and commercial /residential buildings

*Class begins at 8am each day* COURSE OBJECTIVES: *Review basic air monitoring strategies and tactics and limitations to include 4 and 5 gas meters, colorimetric, chemical papers, radiation. *Discuss the use of air monitoring data for the establishment of tactics and strategies, and meet operations health and safety requirements. *Hazard Zone modeling using instrumentation. *Safety considerations while conducting air monitoring in different PPE.
