Name ADVANCED SKYWARN and TSUNAMI Awareness : ( FL-010 )
Description SKYWARN is a program developed and taught by National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists and consists of trained weather spotters who report severe and hazardous weather to help in the weather warning process. SKYWARN Spotter reports provide vital "ground truth" to the NWS
PreRequisite BASIC SKYWARN
Target Audience SKYWARN Training is geared towards anyone with an interest in public safety and communications during extreme weather events communications during extreme weather events, as well as those interested in learning about Hazardous Weather which impacts central/south Florida
TSUNAMI Awareness is a brief course on how Florida beaches can be severely impacted by tsunamis
This is a FREE course that runs approximately 2 hours long
PLEASE NOTE: Pre-registration is required
Additional Information Class starts promptly at 9:00 AM and ends at 11:00. Tsunami Awareness begins at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m.
