Description
|
This one-day (8-hour), management-level training program is designed to help participants develop outreach strategies and to provide guidance and materials for them to conduct outreach to industries and businesses within their jurisdiction to increase public and private sector awareness of homemade explosive (HME) precursor chemicals and improvised explosive device (IED) components. At the completion of the training, it is intended that the participant will establish an outreach program and conduct outreach activities within their community.
BMAP provides the training, tools, and resources that help local first responders and other community outreach officers engage a wide range of private sector establishments within their jurisdictions that manufacture, distribute, or sell products that contain HME precursor chemicals or explosive powders. Participants who attend the BMAP training become BMAP Outreach Officers who reach out to local businesses in their jurisdictions to help employ

PreRequisite
|
Prerequisites:
All participants are required to have a FEMA SID prior to enrolling in this training. If you do not remember what it is, can't find it, or need to create one, "google" (FEMA SID number) or visit cdp.dhs.gov/femasid to register for a FEMA SID.

Select first responders and officials with community outreach responsibilities who accept the duties of a BMAP Outreach Officer Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Service, Governmental Administrative, Law Enforcement, Health Care, Public Health, Public Safety Communications, Security and Safety

* Attendance is limited: registration is open until FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 2020, but may close earlier if the class is filled to capacity ▪ those not selected will be notified and placed on a waiting list
* Check-in starts at 7:30am; class starts promptly at 8:00am - ends at 5:00PM
* Arrive early to find parking and go through building security;
* Bring your Student Identification Number and an official form of identification
* Dress/attire is business casual or agency uniform; personnel will be denied entry if wearing shorts, sandals, t-shirts, etc.
