*To complete your registration for this class please complete the NBRTC registration process and take the quick Pre-Test identified in the attached documents. A copy of the student manual is also included.
*All participants are required to have a FEMA SID prior to enrolling in this training. If you do not remember what it is, can't find it, or need to create one, please "google" (FEMA SID number) or visit cdp.dhs.gov/femasid to register for a FEMA SID.

*COURSE DESCRIPTION: Active Threats on Campuses: Protective Measures and Response is an 8-hour, performance-level course that aims to strengthen the response capabilities of those working in a campus environment, in preparation for a potential active threat incident An active threat incident will test the resolve of both law enforcement first responders and non-law enforcement campus personnel (immediate responders) It is critical for these parties to work together to prevent or mitigate the effects of an active threat Participants will examine various techniques and principles that can be used to effectively combat active threats of all types
During the course, participants will discuss emergency breaching, emergency response protocols, and initial patient management Additionally, the course consists of a practical exercise that employs various active threat scenarios intended to test the response capabilities of both law enforcement and non-law enforcement personnel The course will provide participants with the opportunity to enhance their response skills to better improve their chances of survival in the event of an active threat incident
TARGET AUDIENCE: This class is designed for both campus and law enforcement personnel who may be involved in planning for and responding to active threat incidents Suggested attendees are personnel from school campuses, non-school campuses, and various law enforcement agencies Primary and secondary personnel are listed: *Primary - Campus administrators, faculty, staff (instructional, facilities, custodial), school resource officers, local law enforcement, volunteer staff, members of non-school campuses *Secondary - Local fire and emergency medical services, other local officials (EM, Facilities, Libraries, etc )

*Complete the NBRTC Registration form and Pre-test as indicated in the attached documents.
*Class will start promptly at 8:00AM and end around 5:00PM.
*Arrive early to go through security and find parking.
*Bring something to take notes.
*The room may turn cold so bring jacket/sweater.
*Need to bring your Student Identification Number (SID#) with you to class.
