Name MGT-343 Disaster Management for Water and Wastewater Utilities : ( MGT343)
Description The Disaster Management for Water and Wastewater Utilities course is designed to provide training to water and wastewater professionals on issues concerning preparing for, mitigating against, responding to, and recovering from natural or human-caused disasters that threaten water and wastewater facilities and systems.
PreRequisite Participants are encouraged to take the online courses IS 100, IS 700.A, and IS 800 at http://training.fema.gov/IS/NIMS.asp before attending this course. Students must also register through the myTEEX Student Portal: https://bit.ly/324KDv8
Target Audience Water and Wastewater Utility Personnel, Directors,Department Heads, Supervisors/Superintendents, Operators,Field Personnel,Customer Service, Lab Personnel, Inspectors, Engineers, State/Local Regulatory Personnel Environmental/Local Regulatory Personnel, including: Tribal Councils, City Elected Officials, City Managers, County Elected Officials, Senior Emergency Response Personnel, Utility Board Members
Additional Information The Disaster Management for Water and Wastewater Utilities course provides students with information about the Environmental Protection Agencies (EPA) Response Protocol Toolbox covering necessary steps to be taking during the response and recovery Water and Wastewater Utilities facilities. Participants will be guided through the various issues concerning preparing for, responding to, and recovering from incidents affecting water and/or wastewater facilities. The course introduces the various natural and man-made (accidental or intentional) hazards to which water and wastewater systems may be vulnerable and the potential effects the hazards may induce. Planning for and managing incidents are discussed, as well as disaster mitigation, response and recovery specific to drinking water and wastewater systems.
