HM213 HazMat Medical Response: A Common Sense Approach (2 Parts)
This 4 hour presentation will focus on chemical exposures and injuries. The attendee will be taken through some basic education concerning different types of exposures using scenarios to make the point. This presentation will be interactive allowing the audience to respond to the scenario and determine how diagnosis and treatment will take place. Specifics of each treatment scenario will be discussed and critical points concerning physiology of the injury will be reviewed. This is a scenario based presentation with direct audience participation. Each attendee will receive a handout outlining the expectations from each scenario and other useful reference sheets. The reference sheets can be carried on the EMS units and be used as quick reference materials should a chemical exposure take place.
