Name COM-T All-Hazards Communications Technician
This course trains emergency responders on practices and procedures common to communications technicians during all-hazards incidents and will assist experienced communications technicians personnel to work within the ICS organizational structure. The 40 hour COMT program is targeted for local, regional, state and federal cross disciplinary emergency response professionals with a communications background. Individuals who have assigned responsibility for MARC/EDICS, Mobile Radio Systems, State Urban Search and Rescue, and other communications resources (radio caches, mobile communications vehicle, deployable communications assets). The course is targeted to students who have communications technical aptitude, but not necessarily strong technical experience. The Florida COMT course follows the DHS COMT curriculum, and is facilitated by ECD qualified instructors. (Agency affiliation & endorsements apply)
