Name MGT-475 Crowd Management for Sports and Special Events
This two-day course is for public safety officials, venue operators, event planners, and other stakeholders responsible for safety and security at sport and special events. The training will provide participants with tools and techniques to assist with conducting crowd management and crowd control operations before, during, and after an event or incident. The course content is scalable and applicable to all sports and special events regardless of venue size, capacity, or type of event.

Course Objective
  • Explain key terms, concepts, and the dynamic interaction between the crowd, venue, event, and staff as related to crowd management and crowd control for sport and special events
  • Determine how the dynamic interaction between the venue, event, staff, and crowd type influence crowd risk, crowd management and crowd control for sport and special events
  • Formulate and defend successful crowd management techniques, tactics and procedures for sport and special events
  • Devise and defend effective crowd control strategies for resolving risks inherent in public disorder for sport and special events
  • Develop crowd management and crowd control plans and processes for a sport or special event
  • Construct strategies for crowd management and crowd control related to a given scenario
