FL-617 Intro to Public Assistance for Houses of Worship
This training is for Houses of Worship (HOWs) to apply for and receive Public Assistance (PA) as a Private Nonprofit (PNP). We will review the top reasons for losing federal funding and what HOWs can do to mitigate them. This training will provide an overview of the process so that any Emergency Manager (EM) or volunteer will feel empowered to help a House of Worship through the PA process.

Houses of Worship representatives and Emergency Managers
Course Objective
At the end of this presentation, applicants will have: Learned the program eligibility requirements and be confident when completing a Request for Public Assistance Learned the Emergency and Permanent Work categories and feel confident in categorizing their work activities Understood special types of projects – small, 428, expedited – and feel confident submitting a special project Reviewed procurement activities and feel confident in their application of emergency and exigent procurement Understood Insurance, Environmental Historic Preservation (EHP) and Mitigation requirements that apply to Houses of Worship
