This management level, instructor-led training will provide participants with an overview of the sheltering, evacuation, and relocation processes. The course will look at the roles and responsibilities of preparedness and response partners in carrying out sheltering, evacuation, and relocation operations. A discussion on support services that will be needed will also occur. Finally, the course will review the process of creating and implementing memorandums of understanding (MOU) for sheltering, evacuation, and relocation.

- This course will be made available to the whole community
- Targeted learners will be anyone planning to serve as representatives on the task force and those planning to or currently staffing the task force
- These representatives may be from governor’s offices, states, county, or local emergency management offices, state, county, or city housing and urban/community/economic development offices, states and local housing authorities, county, city, associations within that state, general land and conservation offices, housing and construction industry, state and local health and human services agencies, key nonprofit and charitable organizations specific to the state/region (e

- Analyze the ways in which MOUs are established and administered at shelters and for mass care activities with partners

- Appraise how shelter support services, such as social case workers and human services, can help disaster survivors to relocate to an interim housing solution
