Description "Community Emergency Response Teams", CERT- 317, is a course that serves as an introduction to CERT for those wanting to complete training or as a refresher for current team members.CERT Program educated citizens about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light serach and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
PreRequisite IS-315a, IS-317 *** This class is currently limited to Residents of Homestead, Florida City and Cutler Bay. If you live outside these areas, please contact Jaime Hernandez prior to registering for this class ***
Target Audience Colleges and University, Schools (clubs/organizations), Neighborhoods, scout Group, Faith-based Organizations, Community Organizations, Business and Industry, Individuals, Anyone wishing to be better prepared in the event of an emergency
Additional Information The class will run on Thursdays consecutively for 7 weeks and the Final day will be a Saturday, where will do a review and have the Final Practical Exam. Class hours on Thursday will be 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and the Final Saturday hours will be 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
