Name SPCL-AUXCOMM Auxiliary Communications Workshop : ( SPCL-AUXCOMM)
Description The AUXCOMM workshop is designed for the amateur radio/auxiliary communicator who provides communications backup support for planned or unplanned incidents at a State, Tribal, regional, or local level. This offering is designed for amateur radio operators/organizations who work with public safety and cross-disciplinary emergency response professionals and coordination/support personnel with an amateur radio background. Florida's AUXCOMM program is managed under the Statewide Interoperability Coordinator (SWIC) and ESF2 Communications Unit. AUXCOMM programs are used by COML's, public safety officials and emergency managers at all levels of government. Instructors are qualified by DHS/ECD, and have extensive experience both in incident response and as COMLs. (Served agency affiliation and FCC license technician class or higher, is required)
PreRequisite IS-100C, IS-200C, IS-700B, IS-800D. Must have the latest, most current version of these classes. G-300 is preferred but not required. Must have an FCC Amateur Radio License Technician or Higher. There MUST be an association with a Public Safety Agency. ARES is not a served agency. (Served agency affiliation and a copy of FCC license technician class or higher, is required during registration)

Additional Information Hours for each daily instruction period. Day 1: 0800-1600 Day 2: 0800-1600 Day 3: 0800-1600 Dress Code: Business casual dress as you will be in the actual EOC. No Flip-flops, tee-shirts, or shorts. Club attire is discouraged. A Lite Jacket is suggested as the EOC tends to be cold.
