Name FL-958 NIMS ICS All-Hazards Position Specific Operations Section Chief (OSC) Course : ( FL-958)
Description This is a NON-FEMA Supported Position Specific Course. Participants will not receive a FEMA Certificate. This course is designed to provide local and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective OSC on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team. These responsibilities fall into two categories: 1) responding to the incident and the command needs of the incident, and 2) effectively fulfilling the position responsibilities of an Operations Section Chief on an All-Hazards ICS Incident Management Team. Exercises, simulations, discussions, and a final exam enable students to process and apply their new knowledge. Selection Criteria: NIMS ICS Position Specific training should be completed by personnel who are regularly assigned to functional, support, or unit leader positions on USFA or other Type III All-Hazards Incident Management Teams (AHIMT), or by those persons who desire to seek credentials/certificati
PreRequisite E/G0300, ICS-300: Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents; E/G0400, ICS-400: Advanced Incident Command System for Command and General Staff—Complex Incidents; IS-0100.b, Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS-100; IS-0200.b, Incident Command System for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents; IS-0700.a, National Incident Management System, An Introduction; and IS-0800.b, National Response Framework, An Introduction
Target Audience NIMS ICS All-Hazards training should be completed by personnel who are regularly assigned to Functional, Support, or Unit Leader positions on Type 3 or 4 AHIMTs, or by those persons who desire to seek credentials/certification in those positions
Additional Information We have room for 30 PAX Total. COVID precautions are encouraged as attendees deem appropriate. Strongly recommend not attending if feeling ill. Students should bring an electronic device for access to materials in class.
