Description
Personal Protective Measures for Biological Events provides students with an overview of personal protective equipment (PPE), and includes an experiential learning activity (ELA) practicing donning and doffing PPE Level C. Additionally, there is a review of the different types of decontamination and an ELA practicing technical decontamination.
PreRequisite
**THERE ARE NO PRE-REQUISITES FOR THIS TRAINING** Personal Protective Measures for Biological Events provides students with an overview of personal protective equipment (PPE), and includes an experiential learning activity (ELA) practicing donning and doffing PPE Level C. Additionally, there is a review of the different types of decontamination and an ELA practicing technical decontamination. Topics include identifying general characteristics of viruses in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization, donning and doffing personal protective equipment level C ensemble in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, performing technical decontamination, with decontamination equipment, in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. *All participants are required to have a FEMA SID prior to enrolling in this training. If you do not remember what it is, can't find it, or need to create one, please "google" (FEMA SID number) or visit cdp.dhs.gov/femasid to register for a FEMA SID.
Target Audience
The target audience for this course are responders and receivers, individuals involved in the primary and secondary screening and inspection process at ports of entry such as airports, rail stations, seaports, including Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers, Public Health and ESF-8 personnel, Law Enforcement and related personnel
Additional Information
*This is a (1) one-day training. *Class starts that 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. *The classroom may be cold so please bring a jacket or sweater. *Eight (8) CEUs are available with this training. *Need to bring your Student Identification Number(SID#)with you to class.
