Hazwopper 24-Hour OSHA 1910.120 Hazwoper Class
This course provides those personnel first-on-the-scene with basic information needed to recognize, evaluate, and control an incident involving the release or potential release of hazardous materials. It is intended for personnel of who may come across a chemical emergency during the course of their normal duties. The focus of the course is on recognizing and evaluating a hazardous materials incident, organizing the team, protecting personnel, identifying and using resources, implementing basic control measures, decision-making and protecting the public. Firefighting techniques are not part of the course. By gaining an overview, gathering, and interpreting information, the participants will learn how to make decisions based on a scale of risk versus gain. Participants will work on fixed facility and transportation scenarios for recognizing and evaluating safety concerns during the management of a release or potential release of hazardous materials.
