Description
This course is a guide for local health officials and their partners in the local public health system to coordinate plans to provide mass distribution of pharmaceuticals for the jurisdiction as they relate to the Division of Strategic National Stockpile (DSNS) Program. The purpose of this course is to enhance a jurisdiction’s preparedness and emergency response efforts by developing (or revising) a plan addressing an all-hazards approach towards mass prophylaxis.

Target Audience
Description This course is a guide for local health officials and their partners to coordinate plans to provide mass distribution of medical countermeasures in response to a large-scale public health incident
This course focuses on planning considerations, recommendation to achieve the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) 48-hour standard for Mass Prophylaxis, and the local community’s Mass Prophylaxis and Point of Dispensing (POD) site preparedness
The course material is applicable to pandemic influenza, bio-terrorism, and other public health emergencies
Target Audience - Disciplines include, but are not limited to: •Law Enforcement (LE) •Emergency Medical Services (EMS) •Hospital personnel, physicians, and nurses •Mental Health •Public Health Services •Public Works (PW) •Emergency Management Organizations •Tribal, county, state, and federal medical •Private Industry •School Personnel •Volunteer Organizations •Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) •Dispatchers
Additional Information
Class will start promptly at 8:30am on both days and end approximately at 5:00pm. Please arrive early to go through security. The classroom can turn cold at times so please bring a jacket or coat just in case. No open-toed shoes, shorts, or sleeveless shirts are permitted.
