Description
|
The goal of this professional development course, E/L/G 0191 Emergency Operations Center/Incident Command System Interface, is to enable the students to develop an effective interface between the Incident Command/Unified Command and the Emergency Operations Center by applying National Incident Management System principles. Selection Criteria: The intended audience(s) are federal, state, tribal, territorial, local level, private industry, volunteer and nongovernmental emergency management personnel who are active in a community's ICS and EOC activities. This course works best when delivered to combined audience of ICS and EOC personnel. The materials were developed with the assumption that audience members may have little or no actual experience as a member of an Incident Command Post staff or an EOC Staff.

Description: This 1 day course will address the Incident Command System (ICS) and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) relationship, capabilities and limits of both systems, key players, communications systems, resources, planning programs and logistical assistance.
The course will help Students bridge the gap between an on-scene Incident Commander and the EOC. Training will focus on the teamwork and mutual respect necessary to conduct concurrent operations.

This course is offered to personnel involved in a communities ICS/EOC operations This course is ideally taught to an individual jurisdictions staff to familiarize personnel with the roles and responsibilities of each staff member All command level emergency responders and personnel responsible for operations at the local or county emergency operations center The target training audience for this course includes local, county government personnel, and emergency program managers, and those individuals with diverse backgrounds in emergency management such as:
•Municipal Representatives,
•Elected Officials,
•Law Enforcement (LE),
•Public Health (PH),
•Public Works (PW),
•Emergency Management (EM),
•Military,
•Government administrative,
•And others

This is a "REQUIRED" Course in the Advanced Professional Series (APS) program.
This course will start promptly at 8:30am and end at 5:00pm. The classroom may be cold at times so it is recommended that you bring a coat or sweater. Casual dress is permitted except for open-toed shoes, shorts, and sleeve-less shirts. Please allow for time to go thru security since this is a secured facility.
